Nigerian singer, Tekno had amazing year in 2016, his efforts became noticeable to interest more fans and corporate bodies. To start year 2017, the singer who doubles as a music producer announces his new music company and the release of his debut album.
The ‘Diana’ crooner took to social media to make the announcements and made it known that music executive, Paul O of Upfront and Personal management company, bought 50% shares of his newly-floated music company.
It is however unclear if Tekno is still signed unto Ubi Franklin’s led TripleMG, but Ubi opened up in a recent interview, that he has no problem with Tekno, stating clearly that he’s free to exit the label when his contract expires, just like Iyanya did.
According to Ubi, “Am sure when his contract expires, if he wants to go, I don’t have a problem with that. I am not trying to hold back on any artiste. My dream coming to the entertainment industry is to create, build, release to the world, and say, this is what we’ve done.”
Tekno, while giving his end of the year/new year remark on photo sharing platform, Instagram, he appreciated Paul Okoye, DJs, media personalities, friends, family and fans for their supports, but didn’t recognise TripleMG and Ubi Franklin.
Tekno’s yet-to-be-titled debut album is expected to be released before the second quarter of year 2017 runs out.
